Making jewelry is just one small part of my very busy life. I have been married to my wonderful husband Tom for 26 years and we have one daughter Carissa who is 22. I work for a Christian publishing company, and we are very involved in our local church. Family is important to us and we love spending time enjoying God's creation.
Welcome. I'm happy you have chosen to visit my blog. My earliest memories include my love and enjoyment of beautiful jewelry. When I was 7 my mother's aunt sent my sister and me a black round overnight bag filled with scarves, hankies, jewelry, perfume, powder, and other goodies. I recall my older sister Jan purchasing plastic "pop beads." We had so much fun making and wearing necklaces and bracelets. That has to be where I got the "bead bug!" Five years ago my two sisters began telling me I should make jewelry. I had not seen the type of jewelry they were talking about, and I could not imagine myself making necklaces from small beads I'd had seen older ladies make when I was in college! (Sorry Aunt Lorraine!!!) In August 2003 my friends and I drove up the Red Arrow Highway along Lake Michigan and stopped at some gift shops. At these shops I began seeing beautiful jewelry. It dawned on me that THAT was what my sisters were talking about. I couldn't wait to call tell them I was ready to make jewelry! It's been an interesting, rewarding, and challenging 5 years of making jewelry. I'vemade hundreds of pieces. I'll never cease to be amazed that ladies will come to a home show, love my jewelry, and buy it. My jewelry designs are an expression of who I am. Give 10 different women the same set of different beads and when they are done, those 10 women will make 10 different designs. That is because our creations are an expression of who we are. I am reminded that I also have a Creator. He is the Master Designer Who created the heavens and the earth. He is my greatest inspiration as I look at the colors and textures He put together in the world around me.
